Question
Hello everybody,

My name is Viktor and i am 3rd engineer on LNG carrier vessel, In our vessel we are using 2x TMC Compressor 1 on duty and the other stand-by, the problem that we face is that No1 compressor is taking to long to reach the setpoint pressure ( about 10-12 minutes) unlike No2 that needs half of the time( aprox 5 minutes) to reach the same pressure. We already changed oil, oil filter , oil separators and intake and discharge valve have been overhauled 2 weeks ago but the problem persists. What else should i check ?

If all filters are changed, etc, etc .. valves are overhauled .. then you checked most of the common problems already. What are the running hours on these machines? Can you check the motor current of both the machines when they run loaded and when they run unloaded? Thanks, Cas
