Screw compressor bogs down

We have a natural gas operated rotary screw compressor with an ingersoll airend. Recently, when there is even a slight draw from a air nozzle or auto-drain the compressor bogs down or even dies. It seems as if it is trying to pump too much air too fast. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Steve
