Hi, This 'rotation error' check is usually done in one of two ways: - by checking the element outlet pressure. - with phase sequency relay. If no pressure is built up after a few seconds of rotation, it means something is wrong, most probably, the element is rotating the wrong way. If your compressor uses this system, the problem is probably with the pressure sensor. The other option is with a phase-sequence relay, which checks the incoming 3 phase power source. When you install a compressor and the 3 phase wiring is revered, the motor will turn in the opposite direction. Check if there is such a relay in your control cabinet. It usually has one or more setting dials and 1 or 2 leds that indicated 'error' or 'everything ok'. The rotation check is done on screw compressors, because they should only run in the indicated direction. This will ruin your screw element completely within a few minutes! Hope this helps! Cas
