Question
When compressor reaches 150 psig, instead of shutting off the safety pop off valve starts chattering (open and closed) safety valve is rated at 200 psi. I replaced the safety valve, but chattering continues. Any help would be appreciated. compressor type:Reciprocating Piston Compressor compressor make:Kobalt compressor model: KV7589V2

Hi Lannie, The main question here is.. what pressure is actually reached? Are you sure your pressure gauge is still accurate? First make sure what pressure is reached, and then: - if at 150 psi the safety pops, than the problem is with the safety valve, maybe you where unlucky and the new one was bad as well, or for a lower pressure? - if the compressor doesn't stop at 150 and goes up all the way to 200 (when the safety pops, as it should), then check your pressure switch. If you didn't change any settings, than it should probably be replaced! Good luck!
