Question
When load button is pushed and regulator set at 60 psi motor runs but struggles, set at 70 motor dies. If I open air vales and turn up regulator to 100 psi works fine until i close valve, then motor dies. I think the unload load valve is maybe letting a little bit of air in unloaded mode. I tried to get your book but did not get email. thanks greg

Hi Greg, It sounds like the problem is with your engine. As you describe it, when the pressure increases past 60 psi, the motor is having a hard time keeping up. When you set the regulator at 100 psi, but the valves are full open, the pressure is less, so less stress for the engine. Does the engine rev up when you fully open the air valves? It should go to maximum rpm. If not, check the speed setting actuator on the engine. (see piture). Next, check the fuel system. If the motor can't get enough fuel, it will die. Replace the fuel filter. Also, check the inlet air filter. If it's too dirty, the motor can't get enough fresh air and will die also. If all else fails. Does the machine create a lot of black smoke and runs idle a lot? If yes, then the exhaust system could be clogged with carbon deposits. I have seen this a few times with machine that run stand-by/idle a lot. Good luck! Cas
