Compressor slowing down After pumping 100psi

Hello, This is the first time I have posted here and I appreciate any info that you would be willing to share. I have a Kobalt single stage compressor w/ a 4.5 hp motor & 80 gallon tank. This compressor is not leaking air anywhere however, after it pumps about 100psi of air it sounds as if the compressor is slowing down and I feel that if I don't cut it off it sounds like it is going to burnup. I do not feel any excessive heat coming from the pump or motor. I let it set for a while and turn it back on and it might run for 5-10 seconds and it does the same thing. I have let all of the air out of the compressor so that it can start over and after reaching 100psi it does it again. It has 3 air filters and I have pulled all 3 to clean them and I get the same result. Any ideas?
