choosing the right size and type

I am the owner of a small monument company. The engraving is done by sandblasting and therefore I require a fair amount of air. However, being small, it seems from the information in your guide and what I have learned from previous purchases, that I am kind of in-between needing a higher capacity reciprocating and a smaller rotary compressor. I use a 300# capacity sandblast pot with a 3/16" nozzle at approx. 90 psi.

The compressor is operating 1-4 per day, sometimes a little longer and sometimes not at all for 1-4 days. My estimation of air requirements is perhaps 75 cfm.

I have gone thru a couple of 20 hp units in the last 20+ years ( Rolair PL9000 and a Curtis).

After looking over your buying guides, I am considering a 25 - 30hp reciprocating (duplex)? Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you!
