One of the Atlas Copco GX-11 Model Compressor consumes more oil (2 lph) even after changing the Spin-on Separator. What could be the cause. Please advise.

Thanks in advance

Hello Rajkumar,

Oil carry over to the compressed air system could be, besides a too old oil separator of course, one of the following:

  • Too high temperature. If the compressor works at maximum temperature (110 degrees or more), the oil will become very thin and you will have more oil carry over

  • Too high oil level. Fill it up to the level mark, not higher.

  • Wrong type of oil. Which one did you use? Atlas Copco oil or different oil?

Good luck and let me know if this was helful!
