                        Dear sir,

please allow me to tell you the problem from the beginning, I use my air compressor to supply air to my drill head.

When I start pumping air to go with the air to the drill head sometimes the water go back to the air hose supply and cost the air compressor to shut down. A

s you know the IR21/215 is 350 psi but the water pump for the drill supply 420 psi so I stop using the water with full pressure as the drill head require air to work.

Now I have problem with the air compressor it doesn't want to start, I open the inlet filter and try to start it I found it blowing oil when I turn on the switch and stop, can you please let me know what could be the problem ? thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your question. I don't know exactly how your drill head works, but I understand it requireds both air and water under pressure.. so the best thing to prevent water coming back in the compressed air lines is to install a non-return or check-valve near the drill head. This way air can only come out and nothing can come back in, theoretically.

For you problem.. what exactly happens when you start the compressor?

The fact that it is blowing oil back when it stops, indicates that the inlet valve stays open.

Normally, it would be closed during start-up. So it looks like there's a problem with the inlet valve.

Also, when the compressor tries to start with the inlet valve open, it starts up 'loaded', but it's too much load for the electro-motor or diesel enigne, and it shuts down.

So maybe that's also the reason why your compressor won't start.

So please check that first, or give me some extra information about what exactly happens when you start up the compressor.

Hope this was helpful!
